About Us
Southern Arts Academy (SAA) was established in September 2004 by Katrina Excell, with the objective of teaching children to dance in a fun and friendly environment, inspiring a love for dancing and performing.
With over 180 pupils, SAA run a comprehensive timetable at Denmead and Waterlooville where classes are taught by our professional teachers. Running classes to suit all abilities and ages from 2 years to adult in I.S.T.D modern, tap, ballet, street dance, West End, lyrical and contemporary. I.S.T.D professional exams, class exams and private tuition can also be taken.
We are proud to have world champion dancers who are part of the England team and many previous students that are now performing in the West End. Our annual performance showcasing the work of our pupils is presented at the close of each year; there is also a regular invitation to perform at one of the many West End theatres including Her Majesties, Sadlers Wells, Shaftsbury Avenue and the Royal Albert Hall, where students performed to an audience of over 5,000 people. At SAA we actively encourage and introduce many different opportunities to our pupils, ensuring that they are always learning new ideas and can build up a professional portfolio for their future careers.
